Our adventures with the miniature horse started in 2000 after seeing them on a miniature chuck wagon at the Calgary Stampede. By 2002 we had a small herd of mares, foals, and 2 complete miniature chuck wagon outfits. For the past 18 years we have raced chuck wagons all over the province of Alberta, we have traveled as far west as British Columbia and as far east as Toronto Ontario. Now entering 2020 we run 8 racing teams and looking forward to another successful show year.

We officially became Double Tree Farms in 2007 while still located in Carstairs, AB. In 2008 we relocated our farm just south of Vulcan, AB and carried on with the miniature chuck wagon racing.

In spring 2011 we redefined the farms program to include the breeding of AMHA and AMHR registered stock. Since then our herd has now expanded to include some of the finest names and pedigrees in the miniature horse industry. We attend sanctioned AMHA and AMHR breed shows and have become active members of the Western Canadian Miniature Horse Club.

We could never imagine these 'little' horses having such an emotional hold on us, especially after  having nothing under 15 HH all our lives. It was a new experience that started us on a new path in our busy horse lives.
